Page Number: 3 of 3 pages: 1 2 3from the lower temperatures varied more than the ones from higher tempera-tures for example the results for 30ºC varied quite a lot from 80 to 60 seconds. This is probably because these reactions took longer and so the temperature had to be ad-justed more with hot and cold water to keep the temperature at the correct level. This meant that it had more opportunity to vary, unlike the experiments that reacted quickly and so had less time for the temperature to vary. To stop this from happening I could use a thermostatically to controlled water bath to keep variation at a minimum and therefore make the results more reliable.
Another thing that could have caused errors is that my judgement of when the test tubes were clear probably varied quite a lot. To stop this from happening I could use a light meter to decide when the test tube was clear from the amount of light coming through it.
If I did this experiment again I would have the temperatures closer together so that I could tell more exactly the point of optimum temperature and where the enzymes were denatured.
